We are recruiting on behalf of our client – a leading logistics and freight firm located over the UK. This particular position will be based on site in Witham (CM8) . This is a trainee HR role suitable for anyone with 6 months HR experience with the opportunity to become CIPD qualified.

The Role

  • Recruitment advertising, liaison with people partners and recruitment agencies as required.
  • Monitoring and reporting on temporary agency spend
  • Providing feedback and coordinating with candidates to ensure all candidates have a great experience.
  • Coordinating DISC Profiling where necessary
  • Setting up Interviews
  • Managing the onboarding cycle (drafting up offer letter, pension letters, contract of employment, adding new starters to the HRIS, undertaking reference checks, obtaining induction documents)
  • Conducting Right to works checks as soon as offer is made
  • Arranging participation in corporate induction
  • Ensuring the probation review tasks are allocated to the people partners
  • Ensuring best possible candidate experience/being the connector for all parties
  • Preparing and administering necessary paperwork for employees (e.g., contractual changes, leaver documents)
  • Chasing the employees and managers to ensure that all the information is received prior to payroll submission deadline
  • Managing the off-boarding cycle
  • Updating the HR tracker and maintaining employee records and personnel files
  • Reviewing First Aider and Fire Marshal lists on quarterly basis and organising training when required
  • Assisting with cyclical audits
  • Providing an additional point of contact for general HR related issues signposting onwards to the people partners as appropriate
  • Providing references for ex-employees
  • Support HR team with minute taking as required.
  • Assist the HR Team in other ad hoc duties as and when required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a HR related role (6 months)
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly computer literate with programmes such as word, excel, etc.
  • Able to work appropriately with sensitive and confidential information, maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
  • Interpersonal with good communication skills and able to able to deal with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Able to work independently and as part of the HR team.
